St. Patrick’s Day

Our first in-person alumni event since the start of the pandemic was held in honour of St. Patrick’s Day. Alumni and friends gathered in the Dodig Family Commons (the ‘Coop’) following the St. Patrick’s Parade to enjoy Irish-themed refreshments and a St. Patrick’s Day greeting from St. Mike’s Principal Mark McGowan

The Bright Ages

On April 5, David Perry, who recently co-authored  The Bright Ages, had a public discussion with Irina Dumitrescu (columnist, Times Literary Supplement and Public Humanities Fellow, Jackman Humanities Institute). The Bright Ages was the starting point for a lively discussion on Mediaeval studies, public intellectualism, and the place of popular writing in academia. Over 40 participants joined the conversation online, while the in-person event was held in the beautiful Charbonnel Lounge and attracted a great crowd.

SMC Career Month 2022

The Office of the Registrar at SMC, in collaboration with Career Education and Exploration, hosted various career-building workshops and alumni panels throughout February. We’d like to thank our impactful and impressive alumni who participated in virtual alumni panels to share their expertise with current SMC students, discuss lessons they’ve learned since graduation and give advice to our future alumni.

We’re fortunate to have alumni working in law, finance, education, research, technology investment and development, policy analysis, archeology, museum curation and many more diverse fields who shared their stories with us this year.

We would like to recognize all the alumni who participated on alumni panels, including Stephanie Abrahams, Annissa Malvoisin, Melissa Tarsitano, Muhammad Mumtaz, James Pettem, Chiara Williamson, Megan Fowler, and Danielle Meade
